Mrs Joëlle André-Vert is a project manager in the clinical guideline department at the French National Authority for Health (Haute Autorité de santé - HAS). Trained first as a physiotherapist, she practiced as a rehabilitation multidisciplinary team manager for 15 years in public hospitals. Supporting disabled patients and their families to make shared decision with health professionals was an important part of her activity. She next graduated in public health at Paris-Sud University; and completed a master degree of health economy and management at Paris-Dauphine University; her thesis was centered on shared decision making and patient decision aids. Since 2003, she coordinates clinical practice guideline development groups and has developed patient decision aids on contraception choices. She is a member of the Patient Information Committee at HAS. With this committee, she wrote a methodological guide for patient decision aids development. She also co-animates a working group to share experiences on patient involvement at HAS and was involved in the steering committee for HAS colloquium “Patient dynamics - innovations and measures” in 2016.
